Mr. Murray is a past chair of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association (2001-2002). He twice co-chaired the Family Law Institute (2001, 1994), and has spoken locally, nationally, and internationally at more than sixty CLEs on topics of Interstate and International Child Custody, Colorado Family Law and Domestic Relations Litigation, CFIs, Special Advocates, and Family Law Ethics. Russel is a twenty-three year member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee and created and chaired the CBA Family Law Section Ethics Committee (1993-2003). Additionally, he is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Family Law Section (Child Custody Committee; Ethical Practice and Procedures Committee; International Law Committee); the ABA International Law Section (Family Law Committee); the ABA Center For Professional Responsibility; the International Society of Family Law; the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers (APRL); the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar; the International Society of Family Law; and the Adams/Broomfield, Arapahoe, and Douglas County Bar Associations. For eighteen consecutive years he has been listed as an AV lawyer in Martindale-Hubbell and as an International Family Law attorney in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
Mr. Murray has spoken on criminal matters arising from issues involving family law, and specifically on the representation of defendants while involved in divorce and post-divorce cases. The firm provides representation in felony and misdemeanor charges, including those involving DUI/drinking/driving/traffic matters.
